CIP supervisors İdil Işıl Yıldırım and Kerem Altunbaş participated in the EAGLE Leadership Summer Immersion program organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Held between 8-22 June 2026, the program offered an intensive two-week leadership and intercultural learning experience, focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and international field engagement. The program included a leadership summit, thematic workshops, a leadership camp, and learning journeys addressing sustainable development in both historical and contemporary contexts.

CIP supervisors who participated in the program reflected on their experience as follows:

“Working with people from different cultures and developing projects together was a truly enriching experience. Throughout the program, we explored how sustainability extends beyond theory and can be translated into practice, as well as how companies can implement sustainable approaches in their operations. We also had the opportunity to develop project proposals on these topics and present them directly to companies, making the entire experience even more educational and impactful.” (İdil Işıl Yıldırım)

“This program taught me how to communicate effectively and collaborate with peers from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to solve challenges together. Through the conversations I had with other participants, I realized that although we live in very different parts of the world, the things that make us laugh, feel sad, and worry are remarkably similar. In addition, the field visits throughout the program gave me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of social inequality, sustainable urban planning, and the lives of minority communities in Hong Kong.” (Kerem Altunbaş)

This program, held at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University- the headquarters of the University Social Responsibility Network (USRN), of which CIP is a member- has proven to be a valuable and meaningful international experience for CIP. CIP will continue to advance its efforts to strengthen student leadership and enhance student visibility through international collaborations.
